Ruth Arlene Knatz, 85, of Hampstead died Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at her residence.
Born April 27, 1929 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Mason Rote and Helen DeHoff Rote. She was the wife of the late Philip "Buster" Knatz, Jr., her husband of 48 years.
She was a retired tailor from Jos. A. Banks Clothiers in Hampstead. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and had made caps for the babies at the Carroll Hospital Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and after her retirement she traveled every winter to Florida.
Surviving are her sons Larry Knatz and wife Sharon, Craig Knatz and wife Betty, and Brian Knatz and wife Kathy, all of Hampstead; her 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son Steven Glen Knatz and her brother John Rote.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Dr. Melissa Rudolph officiating.
Interment will be in Greenmount United Methodist Church Cemetery, Greenmount.
