Ruth Elaine Lohmeyer

Ruth Elaine Lohmeyer, 72, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 16, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born July 7, 1949, in Hanover, PA to the late Robert and Martha (Parks) Walton.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jeffery Lohmeyer. Ruth was predeceased by their son, Jeffery. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Ruth retired from Carroll County Public Schools where she worked in the finance department for 30 years. Over the years, she served faithfully in her hometown church, Jerusalem Lutheran Church and at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church in SC. One of her greatest achievements was being a charter member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was devoted to not just her own family tree (ancestry/genealogy) but for her friends' family tree. Ruth loved nature and photography.

Surviving are two sisters, Deanna Walton and Carol King and one nephew, Philip King. She has one surviving uncle, Harold Walton.

The family will receive visitors for a memorial gathering on Thursday, October 28, from 10-11 am at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a memorial service to celebrate Ruth's life will begin at 11 am.

Inurnment to follow in John Luther Miller Memorial Cemetery on Bachmans Valley Road, Westminster, MD.
