Ruth E. Mayr

Ruth E. Mayr, 79, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018, in Towson, MD. Born on September 18, 1938, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Virginia E. Carter Shaeffer. She was the loving wife of Robert M. Mayr, who passed away in 2001.

Ruth was an active member of Glyndon United Methodist Church as well as Mission of Mercy. She worked as an elementary school teacher for Baltimore County.

Surviving her are children: Kenneth Mayr and wife Gail and Beth Belfield, grandchildren: Ashley Mayr, Tyler Belfield, and Kaitlyn Belfield, a sister: Eleanor Miller, and nephews: Marc Miller and Gerhardt Paul Miller.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, February 9, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10, at 11 am at the Glyndon United Methodist Church, 4713 Butler Road, Glyndon, MD 21071. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery, Reisterstown, MD.
