Ruth R. Parrott, 88, of Hanover, Pa., died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover.

Born Jan. 5, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Edith Mae Brauning Rosenberger. She was the wife of John W. Parrott, her husband of 53 years, who died in 2000.

She was a graduate of Towson State University and taught at Franklin Elementary School for 20 years until her retirement.

She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Hanover, the Baltimore County Retired Teachers Association, Franklin Elementary Retired Teachers Association, the D.A.O. and the Lunch Bunch. She was also a volunteer at Hanover Hospital.

Surviving are daughters and son-in-law Becky and Richard Boyer and Christine Parrott, all of Hanover; brother Dr. William R. Rosenberger of Reisterstown; and grandchildren Matthew and Elizabeth Boyer and Iain and Dougall Liechti.

She was predeceased by her brothers John and Henry Rosenberger.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Grace United Church of Christ, 100 Fourth St., Hanover, with the Rev. Bruce Bouchard officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends following the service.
