Ruth Alma Comer Rost, 84, of Hampstead died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster.
Born Saturday, July 12, 1924, she was the daughter of Millard Smith Comer and Rosie Arnold Comer. She was the wife of the late Charles Maynard Rost, her husband of 66 years, who died on September 8, 2008.
Mrs. Rost was a seamstress in the men's clothing industry. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Glen Burnie 213 and Lebanon 108.
Surviving are her sons and daughters in law C. McKinley and Patricia M. Rost and Richard E. and Joyce A. Rost, all of Hampstead; grandchildren Jennifer White, Jon C. Rost, Peter B. Rost, and Sarah J. Rost; great grandchildren Matthew and Ryan White; her sisters Anne Dumler of Salisbury and Maxine Houck of North Carolina; sister in law Pearl Comer of Kaolin, PA.
She was predeceased by her brothers Walter, Roy, Howard Comer, her sister Helen Comer Barnes, and her grandson Matthew Rost.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4300 Church Road, Hampstead, (Baltimore County), with her pastor the Rev. Linda A. Lewis Officiating.
Interment will be in the St. Peter's Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Lutheran School, 1738 Old Taneytown Road, Westminster, MD 21158.
