Ruth Cronhardt Sedicum

Ruth Cronhardt Sedicum, 94, of Owings Mills, MD, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the Gilchrist Center in Columbia, MD. Born on November 2, 1927, in Chestnut Ridge, MD, she was the daughter of the late Myron Alvin and Eva Jeanette Forwood Cronhardt. She was the beloved wife of the late John Wesley "Wes" Sedicum, who passed way in 2005.

Ruth was a retired school teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools. She enjoyed bowling and sports, especially the Ravens and Orioles.

Surviving her is a daughter: Susan Douglas of Owings Mills, MD, grandchildren: Sarah Surber, Matthew Surber and wife Carissa, Emma Surber and husband Aaron Schmidt, Gordon Douglas, and Amanda Douglas, great-grandchildren: Deacon and Elizabeth, and son-in-law: Thomas Surber.

She was predeceased by a daughter: Donna Surber, and siblings: Bessie Lippy, Robert Cronhardt, Nancy Cronhardt, Ellen Cronhardt, and Charlie Cronhardt.

The family will receive friends at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Rd., Owings Mills, MD on Friday, September 23, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am.

Interment to follow in Carrolls Chapel Cemetery, Lutherville, MD.
