Ruth Virginia- Tawney Cole

Ruth Virginia Tawney Cole, 88, of Upperco passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Long View Nursing Home in Manchester. Born November 7, 1926, she was daughter of the late Benson Tawney and Virgie Estelle Kemp Tawney. She was the wife of the late William Wesley Cole. Years ago, she was seamstress and was a homemaker.

Surviving is her son Dennis William Cole of Upperco; her granddaughter Bethany Lynn Alman, nee Cole and husband Ronald of Minnesota; her great grandson Ian Wesley Alman; and her two nephew David and Melvin Tawney. She was predeceased by her brothers Leonard and Earl Tawney; and her sister Mary Merrick.

The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2015. Interment will be in Mt. Zion U.M. Cemetery in Upperco.
