Sandra "Sandi" Lee Helphenstine (Jefferies)
May 20, 1952 – November 1, 2025

Sandra "Sandi" Lee Helphenstine, born in Denver, Colorado on May 20, 1952 and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, resilience, and wholehearted love.

Sandi was a fiery soul—full of life, laughter, and a rhythm all her own. Music was her heartbeat. Whether she was dancing in the kitchen, at a concert, or anywhere she could find a tune, she brought energy and light into every room she entered. She adored her children and grandchildren, and nothing made her happier than surrounding them with love, and her one-of-a-kind spirit.

A devoted Baltimore Ravens fan, Sandi lived for football season—game days, and anything that brought people together. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and she couldn't help but pull others into the excitement.

Sandi spent much of her career with Jewish Family Services, where she dedicated herself to supporting the community and caring for individuals with disabilities. Her compassion, patience, and ability to lift others up were among her greatest gifts.

She was deeply rooted in her church community, where she found connection, and purpose. She and her dear girl friends shared countless hours of laughter whether playing cards, catching a show or simply grabbing a bite to eat. Those friendships were a source of joy throughout her life.

Sandi is survived by her loving husband, Donald Helphenstine; her sister Linda Swan, and her daughters, Sasha and Mala Ramkahalawan and their partners. Her son, Jared N. Brown and her beloved grandchildren, Caden, Jordyn, and Isabelle.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, her sister; Trisha and her cherished son, Jason, whom we know she is now rejoicing and dancing beside.

We will miss our dear Sandi more than words can express. May her spirit continue to shine brightly, and may we find comfort in knowing she is at peace—dancing, celebrating, and watching over us all.
Until we see you again..
