Sarah Elizabeth "Betsy" Merryman, age 72, of Reisterstown passed peacefully surrounded by her family, Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at her home.
Born November 4, 1942 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late William C. Allman and Elizabeth R. Johnson Allman. She was the wife of the late William E. Merryman.
Betsy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was blessed to be surrounded by her supportive, loving, and good friends.
Surviving are her daughters, Kimberley Ruark and husband Jeff of Towson, and Tamara Bentley and husband Dan of Hanover, PA; her grandchildren Kathryn Elizabeth and William Keegan Ruark, Sarah Louise Mayberry and husband Brian, and Abigail Elizabeth Bentley; her great-grandson Hunter Bentley Mayberry; and her brother Mason Allman.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 until time of funeral service, 3 p.m. at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills with Mike Ritter officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore, 635 West Lexington Street, Baltimore, MD 21201 or to the Salvation Army of Central Maryland, 814 Light Street, Baltimore, MD 21230. Online condolences may be offered at www.eckhardtfuneralchapel.com.
