Sarah Virginia Ruby

Sarah Virginia Ruby, 73 of Finksburg, MD, passed peacefully Thursday Dec. 1, 2016 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born March 7, 1943 in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late James Alfred Zimmerman, Sr. and Marion Anne McCauley Zimmerman. She was the wife of 52 years to Carroll Leon Ruby.
Years ago, Sarah was a secretary for NASA, Maryland Cup and Baltimore Spice Co. She enjoyed bowling, reading, animals and loved going to Ocean City.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children; Suzy Whittaker of Dallastown, PA. and Jason Ruby and fiancée Brittney of Finksburg, MD, siblings; James (Jimmy) Zimmerman, Jr. of Ocean City, MD. and Madeline Jones of Finksburg, MD, aunts; Edith Jenkins, Ethel Curtis and Cora McCauley. She is also survived by 1 granddaughter and 2 step grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Deer Park United Methodist Church, 2205 Sykesville Rd., Westminster, MD 21157 on Monday Dec. 12, 2016 at 7:00pm.
A private cremation was held at All Faiths Crematory, Manchester, MD.
Arrangements are by the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., Manchester, MD.
