Shirley Marie Rill

Shirley Marie Rill, 78, of Hampstead, MD, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at BridgingLife Dove House in Westminster, MD.  Born on September 27, 1946, in Glasgow, KY, she was the daughter of the late Charles Stewart Morgan and Myrtle Mae Payne Morgan.  She was the beloved wife of almost 60 years to Roger Eugene Rill, Sr.

Shirley was raised on a dairy farm in Carroll County. She graduated from Westminster High School, Class of 1964.  After graduation, she went on to work at her brother's machine company, "Western Industrial Machining" until she retired. She was a proud member of Manchester Baptist Church. Shirley was very crafty and enjoyed making jewelry, sewing, creating floral arrangements, she also liked cooking and baking.  Giving and sharing with others was her love language.  She loved spending time with her family, and some favorite memories include the family beach trips.

Surviving her in addition to her husband are children: Dawn Johnsson and husband Johnny, Monica Sisler and husband Gordon, Roger Rill, Jr. and wife Sue, grandchildren: Rachel Dugan and husband Zach, Karl Johnsson and wife Noelle, Karin Johnsson, Lydia Bowman and husband Patrick, Ella King and husband Josh, Jacob Neiderer, Chance Neiderer, Alex Neiderer and wife Julia, and great-grandchildren: Kayleigh, Gage, Sage, and Morgan.  Shirley is also survived by her brother: Bud Morgan and wife Peggy.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, April 3, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, and on Friday, April 4, from 10 – 10:30 am, at the Manchester Baptist Church, 2933 Manchester Baptist Church Road, Manchester, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 10:30 am, with Rev. Dr. David Scafide officiating.

Interment is to follow in the church cemetery.
