Shirley Virginia Steger, 79, of Manchester died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at her home.
Born October 5, 1934 in Hampstead, She was the daughter of the late John Herman Seipp and Minnie Violia Kelbaugh Seipp. She was the wife of the late Daniel Franklin Steger.
She was a homemaker. Years ago she had worked at the Hampstead Sewing Factory and after which she devoted much of her time to her family and her favorite hobby-crafts. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manchester.
Surviving are her children Brenda Sue Steger of Glen Burnie and Mary Christina Strausbaugh of Glenville, PA; her grandchildren Kathy Kern of Glen Burnie, Nathan Strausbaugh and Ryan Strausbaugh both of Glenville, PA; her siblings Geraldine Ruby, Eva Thompson, Loretta Seipp, Beatrice Le Monde, and Jack Seipp all of Hampstead; and her sister-in-law Mary Jane Seipp of Florida.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Matthew S. Schenning officiating.
Interment will be in New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8219 Town Center Drive, Baltimore, MD 21236 or to the American Diabetes Association, 2002 Clipper Park Road, Baltimore, MD 21211
