Spurgeon H. Black

Spurgeon H. Black, age 88 of Owings Mills, MD. passed peacefully Sunday March 27, 2016 at the Futurecare at Cherrywood in Reisterstown, MD. Born Feb. 8, 1928 in Reisterstown, MD. he was the son of the late Clarence R. and Thelma Moorehead Black. He was the husband of the late Charlotte Mae Gerwig Black who died in 2007.
He was a retired foreman for Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. and owned and operated a landscaping company for many years. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of V.F.W. Post 521.
He is survived by his children, Sharon D'Ambrogi and husband Michael of Owings Mills, MD., Michael Black and wife Darlene of Manchester, MD. and Donna Lake and Dorsey of Owings Mills, MD. sister, Esther Moran of Severna Park, MD. grandchildren, Keith Black and wife Angie, Shaun Black and wife Jenna, Lauren Lake and husband Charles Crookes and Justin Lake and great grandchildren, Braydon and Alyssa Black.
He was predeceased by grandchildren, Craig Black and Brian Lake.
The family will receive friends at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd., Owings Mills, MD. on Wednesday March 30, 2016 from 3-5 and 7-9pm. where funeral services to be held on Thursday at 10:00am. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD.
