Stephen Richard Schuette, age 60, of Manchester, Maryland, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on January 24, 2015 at the Dove House.
He was the beloved husband of Deborah Grimm Hurley, father of Corey J. Schuette and wife Beth, Ronald Scott Schuette and fiancé Amelia Kate Lory, all of Hampstead, Erin Hurley Booker and husband Kevin of Orlando, FL, and Ryan Hurley and wife Abby of Chicago, cherished grandfather of Kenzie, Andrew, Emerson and Beatrice. He is also survived by father, Carl Francis Schuette and step-mother Dee of Hanover, PA and mother, Gloria Williams Ewing and brother, David Schuette, both of Westminster.
Steve was a Water Quality Analyzer for the Department of the Environment. His hobbies included buying and selling old watches and collectibles and classic Camaros. He enjoyed spending time in Ocean City and his paradise, PawPaw, WV. He was an avid Baltimore sports fan.
He was predeceased by his stepfather, Ernie Ewing.
An informal gathering of family and friends will be held 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 28 at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
