Sterling Francis Flohr age 83 of Westminster, MD. formerly of Reisterstown, MD. died Saturday Feb. 15, 2008 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD.
Born Jan. 20, 1925 in Sykesville, MD. he was the son of the late Sterling Israel and Margie Rebecca Grimes Flohr. He was the husband of Miranda (Betty) Elizabeth Hartson Flohr.
He was a retired engineering assistant for C & P Telephone. He was a member of the Reisterstown United Methodist Church, the American Legion, the V.F.W. Post 521 and the Telecom Pioneer Club. He was a Army Air Corp veteran of WW II.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Joan E. Boone of Columbus, Ohio, Thomas S. Flohr of Reisterstown, MD. and Kathleen A. Hopkins and her husband Samuel of Finksburg, MD. Grandchildren: John S. and Christa Boone, Jeffrey E. Boone, Traci E. and Nicholas Schissler and Krista L. Hopkins. Great Grandchildren: Jackson, Lauryn and Brooklyn Boone.
A funeral service will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills, MD. on Wednesday at 11:30 am. with his pastors: Rev. Carol Yocum and Rev. Dick Harden officiating.
Interment will be in Lakeview Mem. Park, Sykesville, MD.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. at the funeral chapel.
