Sterling H. McComas age 84 of Hampstead, MD. died Wednesday Nov. 20, 2013.

Born March 15, 1929 in Hampstead he was the son of the late Harry "Ross" and Martha "Florence" Wilhelm McComas.

He was the husband of Esther L. Coppersmith McComas, his wife of 63 years.

He was a machine operator for Black and Decker for over 30 years and had retired from Keystone Machine Shop in Littlestown, PA. He served in the National Guard until 1952 where he was honorably discharged. He was an avid gardener and caretaker for his home farm.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Sharon McComas Knatz and husband Larry of Hampstead, MD., Cheryl McComas of Hampstead, MD., Dennis R. McComas and wife Carolyn of Manchester, MD., Cynthia McComas Langston and husband Ted of Manchester, MD., Donna McComas McCalmont and husband Steve of Manchester, MD. and Gail McComas and companion Jeff Shock of Hampstead, MD. siblings: Myles McComas of Hampstead, MD and Shirley Simpers of Manchester, MD. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by sister: Eileen Fowble.

Funeral services will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. on Monday at 10:00am. with the Rev. Dr. Jarrett T. Wicklein officiating.

Interment in Grave Run Methodist Church Cemetery Hampstead, MD.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the funeral chapel.
