Susan Diana Grote

Susan Diana Grote, 76, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at her home. Born on August 10, 1949, in Hampstead, MD, she was the daughter of the late Albert Lyle Belt and May Naomi Bull Belt. She was the beloved wife of David Calvin Grote, Sr.

Years ago, Diana worked as a graphic designer for Berryville Graphics. She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. In her younger years, Diana was a Girl Scout and 4H leader, and in high school she played on the volleyball team and was a champion archer.

Surviving her in addition to her husband are children: David Grote, Jr. and wife Rachael of Hanover, PA, and Deanna Kay Herald of Carroll County, MD, grandchildren: Dustin, Brandy, Christian, Colton, Kaden, and Kara, and a sister: Sharon Eyler and husband Charles of Westminster, MD.

She was predeceased by her siblings: Albert Belt, III, Bonnie Belt, and John Belt.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 9, at 3 pm at the American Legion Post 200, 4600 Legion Lane, Hampstead, MD 21074.
