In Loving Memory of Susan Marie Riddle

Susan Marie Riddle, a radiant soul whose warmth and generous heart illuminated every life she touched, passed into eternal peace on June 9, 2025, at the age of 72. Surrounded by her beloved family at BridgingLife Dove House in Westminster, MD, Susan's departure leaves behind a legacy of love, woven with memories that will forever sing in the hearts of those who knew her.

Born on October 6, 1952, in Baltimore, MD, Susan was the daughter of the late William and Cecilia Dixon Quinn. Her greatest treasure was her 51-year love story with her devoted husband, Stephen Joseph Riddle, a partnership that danced with laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion.

A faithful member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church in Manchester, Susan lived her faith with quiet grace. In earlier years, she found immense joy in singing at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Eldersburg, MD, where her voice lifted hymns that filled the sanctuary with warmth and reverence, a cherished memory that resonated throughout her life. Her giving spirit also shone through her volunteer work, from serving with Shepherd's Staff to tutoring young children at local elementary schools, where her patience and encouragement sparked curiosity and confidence in young minds.

As a technician at Baltimore Gas and Electric, Susan's sharp mind and dedication were evident, but her passions painted her life in vivid hues. She crocheted plastic floor beds for the homeless, enjoyed reading, working on crossword puzzles, and nurtured gardens that bloomed as brightly as her spirit. Above all, she treasured moments with her family, where her love was the sweetest note of all.

Susan's legacy lives on in her sons, Stephen Riddle, Jr. (Celeste) of North Carolina and Scott Riddle (Jaclyn) of Manchester, MD, and her adored grandchildren, Aidan, Nicholas, Emma, and Jackson. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Patricia McDonnell (Jim) and Wendy Christian (Bill).

The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 16, from 6-8 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 17, at 11:30 am, at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester, MD.

Interment to follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville, MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Shepherd's Staff, an organization dear to Susan's heart where she volunteered with passion and purpose. https://www.shepstaff.org/product/donation-in-memory/

Susan's life was a tapestry of faith, love, and quiet joys, and though she has joined the eternal choir, her gentle song and selfless spirit will forever resonate in the hearts she touched.
