Susan Marie Tawes, 54, of Millers died Monday, February 10, 2014 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Born May 19, 1959 in Glen Burnie, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Patricia Lambert. She was the wife of John Edward Tawes, Sr., her husband of 32 years.
Years ago, she worked in Quality Assurance for the Computer Science Institute. She was a member of the Lineboro Volunteer Fire Company where she served as the Chaplain and was an EMT. She was a member of the Crisis Intervention Team of York County.
In her spare time she enjoyed camping, casinos, Caribbean, boating, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband is her son John Edward "Jay" Tawes, Jr. and wife Laura; her daughter Mindy Lankford and husband Joe; and her grandchildren Jacob, Justin, Jeremy, Ethan, Noah, and Grace.
The family will receive friends 4 p.m. Saturday until time of funeral service, 7 p.m. at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with Pastor Sam Chamelin officiating.
Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
