Theodore Henry Hartmann, 90, of Gettysburg, Pa., formerly of Hampstead, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at his home.
Born Oct. 23, 1917, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Emil and Anna Snyder Hartmann. He was the husband of Helen Corrinne Scarboro Hartmann, his wife of 59 years, who died in January 2000.
He was a veteran of the Army and a tool and die marker for Westinghouse in the electronic division. He enjoyed remodeling homes and gardening and was an active member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Zumbrun of Gettysburg; son and daughter-in-law Ted and Jerry Hartmann of Baltimore; a sister, Dorothy Malchester of Linthicum; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Robert O. Zumbrun.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3184 Church St., Manchester, with his pastors, the Revs. Matthew and Norma Schenning, officiating.
Interment will be in Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
