Thomas Edgar Burgoon III

Thomas Edgar Burgoon III, 86, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family. Born on July 1, 1939, in Westminster, MD, he was the son of the late Thomas Edgar Burgoon, Jr. and Ada Simonson Burgoon. He was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine Evans Burgoon, who passed away in 2010.

Tom retired from Baltimore County as a heavy equipment supervisor. He was a former member of Trinity UCC in Manchester. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was very special to him. He also enjoyed spending time outside, especially when it came to fishing, hunting, tinkering with his tractors, and tending to the animals.

Surviving him are his sons: Thomas Edgar Burgoon IV and wife Tammy of North Carolina, John Michael Burgoon of Florida, James Edward Burgoon and wife Lisa of Westminster, MD, grandchildren: Jacob, Emily, Travis, Brandon, Mason, and Elise, and great-granddaughters: Presley and Charlotte Mae. He is also survived by his sister: Mary Young of Pennsylvania, and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was predeceased by his siblings: Larry Burgoon, Dorothy Weathersbee, and Flora Kyle.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, July 11, from 1-3 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a memorial service will begin at 3 pm.

Inurnment will take place in Trinity UCC Cemetery, Manchester, MD, at a later date.
