Thomas J. Rickle, 88 of Owings Mills, MD passed peacefully, Thursday Oct. 6, 2016 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born Oct. 1,1928 in Maryland he was the son of the late John William and Annie Louise Rickle. He was the husband of Kathleen Ann McNulty Rickle for 63 years.
Tom graduated from Calvert Hall College. He began his career for C & P Telephone Co. in Installation and Repair work. He earned his B.S. and Master's degrees in Civil Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He retired from Verizon 38 years later as a Buildings Construction Manager.
Tom was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served as the General Contractor when the new church was built. He was a long time member of the Dog Owners Training Club and taught dog obedience training for 45 years. He ran the 4-H dog obedience program for Baltimore and Carroll County as well as the Maryland State 4-H Dog Show. His hobbies included wood working, and gardening.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are children; David Rickle, Clare Linfield and husband Steve, and Teresa Gavin and husband Bill. He was also survived by his grandchildren; Ryan & Melissa Gavin, Sean & Megan Linfield.
He was predeceased by a son; Stephen T. Rickle.
The family will receive friends at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Rd., Owings Mills, MD on Monday Oct. 10, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD on Tuesday at 10:00am. Interment will be in Evergreen Mem. Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
