Thomas Paul Shaffer, age 53, of Berkeley Springs, WV, died on Friday, February 17, 2017 at his home. Born September 5, 1963 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of Paul Henry and Mary Elizabeth Bess Shaffer of Berkeley Springs.
He was a member of Berkeley Baptist Church. He attended North Carroll High School in Hampstead, MD. Tom had owned and operated Shaffer Construction and was currently working with Building Systems, Inc. of Hagerstown, MD. He was an avid reader, enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycles, and riding dirt bikes. He was completely devoted to his children and loved to spend time with them.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Brittney Michelle Shaffer of Roanoke, VA, Brooke Elizabeth Shaffer, Thomas Paul Shaffer II and Alece Nicole Shaffer, all of Berkeley Springs, his brother, Dennis Robert Shaffer of Berkeley Springs, one granddaughter, Kayleigh Jean Spring of Berkeley Springs, one nephew, John Aaron "John Boy" St. Clair of Hanover, PA, two aunts, Sandra Jane Sanders and Wanda Sue Myers, both of Manchester, MD and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV and from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, PA, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, PA with Pastor Suzanne Adele Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in Deer Park Cemetery, Smallwood, MD.
