Thomas Michael Winkler "Mike" at age 72 lost his battle to ALS on Monday August 12, 2019 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, MD. Born on August 10, 1947, in Kingsville, MD, he was the son of the late Thomas Bernard and Rita Hellman Winkler. He was the loving husband of Nancy Ann Winkler.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife are Children: Erin Nulf, Ryan Winkler, Kathryn Winkler, Stepchildren: Eric Fick and wife Debbie and Candice Travaglione and husband Joseph, Grandchildren: Megan, Sara, Katrina, Michael, Jack, Joseph Jr., Liliana, Colton and Mason, Siblings: Mark, Mary Jo, Charles and Kimberly. He was predeceased by his brother: Gary.
Mike was a member of the American Legion Baseball. He was drafted to the New York Mets, but he was drafted to the Vietnam War first, where he served in the Navy. He attended Loyola College and had a long career in Enterprise IT Sales. He retired at the age of 70. He enjoyed golfing, boating and spending time with his wife and family at their home in Pawleys Island, SC. Mike and Nancy were married for almost 33 years.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday August 22, 2019 at 11 am at St. John's the Evangelist, 13305 Long Green Pike, Hydes, MD 21082. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
