Vera Blinn McCubbin, 88, of Manchester died Monday, August 19, 2013 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.
Born March 28, 1925 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Frederick Schafer and Anna Langenfelder Schafer. She was the wife of Charles Spencer McCubbin, Sr., her husband of 62 years, who died on June 8, 2007.
She was a homemaker. She volunteered at Carroll County General Hospital for 25 years. She played piano and organ, and taught Sunday School at Greenmount United Methodist Church for 25 years and played organ for the church services at Springfield State Hospital. She was the President of the Maryland Shut In Society.
Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law Charles S. McCubbin, Jr., Mark E. McCubbin and wife Crystal Tyler McCubbin.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m. Wednesday until time of funeral service at 2 p.m., Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
Interment will be in Greenmount United Methodist Church Cemetery in Greenmount.
