Vernon Leroy Hann age 99 of Lineboro, MD died Saturday October 25, 2014 at his home.


Born March 31, 1915 in Hampstead, MD he was the son of the late Claude Alvon and Bertha May Rohrbaugh Hann. He was the husband of the late Nellie May Martin Hann who died October 10, 2013.

As a young man he attended Hampstead School, during the early years of WW II he worked on airplanes for Glen L. Martin and was a retired carpenter. He was a member of the Lineboro-Manchester Lions Club, Lineboro Fire Dept. and a member and former deacon of Lazarus Church United Church of Christ in Lineboro, MD. He also enjoyed fishing and crabbing.

He is survived by his children, Robert L. Hann and wife Janet of Hanover, PA., Ronald E. Hann and wife Gwyneth of Hampstead, Richard M. Hann and wife Cheryl of Lineboro, and Susan M. Hann of Lineboro; his grandchildren, Donna Garrison and husband Steve of Hanover, PA., David Hann of Hampstead, Ronald Hann, II and wife Bobbie of Manchester, Jeffrey Hann and wife Alexandra of Columbia, Andrew Hann of Los Angeles, CA, and Rachel Hann of Pikesville; her great grandchildren, Remington, Shelby, Robbie, Ronnie, III and Juliet.

He is predeceased by siblings, Marie E. Krichten, Charlotte Garmer, Hazel R., Russell R., Francis S. and Stanley E. Hann.

The family will receive friends 3 to 5 pm. and 7 to 9 pm. Tuesday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Lazarus United Church of Christ, Lineboro Volunteer Fire Dept., 4224 E. Main St. Lineboro, MD with his pastor, the Rev. Sam Chamelin officiating.

Interment will be in Lineboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lazarus Church, Attn: Rebuild Fund, 5101 S. Church St., Lineboro, MD 21102.
