Vernon Lamar Leaf, Sr., 91, of Pikesville, died Monday Oct. 8, 2012 at the Gilchrist Hospice in Towson.
Born February 3, 1921 in Baltimore County, MD, he was the son of the late George Frank and Grace Crouse Leaf. He was the husband of the late Katherine H. Leaf, who died in 2000.
He was a retired warehouse manager for Armco Steel Corp. He was a life member of the Reisterstown Vol. Fire Dept. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and WWII and a member of the American Legion Post 116 Reisterstown, MD.
Surviving are children Susan Brooks and husband Robert of Pikesville, and Donna Bolte and husband John of Pikesville; also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
He was predeceased by a son Vernon Larry Leaf, Jr., a brother Carville Leaf; and a grandson.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 11 605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday.
Interment in Druid Ridge Cemetery, Pikesville.
