Victor G. "Chopper" Copestake Jr., 55, of Taneytown died suddenly Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at his home.
Born Aug. 18, 1952, in Baltimore, he was the son of Victor George and Dorothy Fowble Copestake Sr. of Reisterstown. He was the life-time partner of Jeanne M. Davis of Taneytown.
He was a truck driver for Charles Bopst Trucking Inc. in Sykesville. He was a United States Navy veteran. While in the Navy he was a member of the SeaBees. He was a member of The American Muscle Car Association. He enjoyed drag racing, dirt track racing, NASCAR racing and old cars.
Surviving, in addition to his parents and partner, are a son, Brandon Jonathan; a brother, Robert Harry Copestake of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters Catherine C. Yohn of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Janie A.C. Eckard of Hanover, Pa.; a close friend of 27 years, Chris Hoffman of Millersville; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, with the Rev. Scott Sager officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral chapel.
