Viola Mae "Dudy" Klare, 91 of Hampstead, died Wednesday February 6, 2013 at the Dove House in Westminster.
Born April 26, 1921 in Eddystone, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Isaac Kercherville and Viola May Rooney Kercherville.
She was the wife of Howard William Klare, who died Dec. 4, 1990.
She and her husband and son owned and operated the Hampstead Hardware (Wooden Indian) in Hampstead for many years. She enjoyed giving out candy at their hardware store.
She is survived by her son: Howard B. Klare of Hampstead; a daughter-in-law Cheryl Lewis of Hampstead; a granddaughter Cara Lewis of Baltimore City; special friends Eddie and Gail Crowl of Manchester; and survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters Helen Duncan and Ruth Brookhart.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
