Viola Ruth Evans

Viola Ruth Evans, 95 of Taneytown, MD, formerly of Reisterstown, MD, passed peacefully on Wednesday August 23, 2017 at the Lorien of Taneytown.

Born June 30, 1922 in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John Edgar and Lillian Hester Foutz Williams. She was the wife of the late Joseph Allen Evans, Jr. who died in 1995.

Years ago, Viola and her late husband enjoyed traveling across the country and lived for many years in Clearwater, Florida.

Viola is survived by her siblings; June McCoy of Manchester, MD, Shirley Halanych of Sarasota, FL, Wilbur Williams of Finksburg, MD, Frances Hatcher and Robert Williams both of Westminster, MD. She was also survived by 12 nieces and 4 nephews.

She was predeceased by siblings; Harry Williams and Dorothy Finch.

The family will receive friends at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL P.A., 3296 Charmil Dr., Manchester, MD. on Sunday August 27, 2017 from 3-5pm. Funeral services will be on Monday at 10:00am. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Vivian McCarthy officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
