Violet Lucille King, 81, of Reisterstown, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

She was born November 17, 1926, in Baltimore County, Maryland, and was the daughter of the late William G. Carr and Florence Miller Carr. She was the wife of the late Donald O. King, who passed away in 2007.

Mrs. King retired from the Baltimore County Public School System at Franklin Middle School as English Department Chairman and teacher. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Reisterstown.

Surviving her are her children Peggy Ayres of Reisterstown and Kathy King and son-in- law Guy Bailey of Stamford, CT, Glenn King and his wife Sharon of Reisterstown, and Jerry King and his wife Julie of Finksburg; her grandchildren Wesley, Andrew, Sara, Justin, Kyle, Ryan, Ashley, and Emily; her great grandchild Ethan; and her brother George Carr of Massachusetts.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Walter Carr and Robert Carr.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with Rev. Mindy Coates officiating.

Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery in Reisterstown.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
