Virginia Marie Shipley, 88, of Hampstead died at Long View Nursing Home on Monday, May 12, 2008.
She was born in Baltimore on July 26, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Carmello Lana and Marie Barbausca Lana. She was wife of Carroll Albert Shipley, her husband of 60 years.
Mrs. Shipley was a switch board supervisor for C & P Telephone. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and was a volunteer for area nursing homes.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children Jackie Nelson of Bel Air, Nicole Tepper of Baltimore, Bettylee Puckett of Baltimore, and John Mooney of Millers; her brother John Lana and her sister Marie Walters both of Parkville; also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her children Carroll A. Shipley, Jr. and George E. Shipley.
