Vola Shreeve Harvey Osborn

Vola Shreeve Harvey Osborn, of Upperco, MD, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Maryland Masonic Homes, Cockeysville, MD. She was the daughter of the late Charles B. Harvey and Rachel Hollis Harvey.  She was born and raised in the Fowblesburg area of Baltimore County.  Vola was a graduate of Franklin High School and worked as a Secretary for Prudential Insurance Company for over 40 years. She was the beloved wife of George D. Osborn.

Vola was a lifetime member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Reisterstown, where she served as Chair of Trustees, Chair of Ad Council, representative to Baltimore Washington Conference and President of United Methodist Women.  She ran bus trips as fund raisers for 40+ years, traveling all over the U.S. and Canada.  She loved doing crafts with the kids at Vacation Bible School.

Vola worked at the Maryland State Fair in Home Art Food Preservation as an assistant and in 2012, she became the Superintendent of the section, serving through 2019.

Vola was 4H Fair Canning and baked goods Judge for Harford County, Baltimore County, Howard County, Montgomery County and Carroll County, as well as for the Hereford Junior Farm Fair.

Vola is survived by her sister: Helen Hines, son-in-law: Wayne Talbott, Sr., grandchildren: Tammy Talbott Tricario, Wayne Talbott, Jr. (Sonia), great grandchildren: Elizabeth Tricario, Dixie and Wyatt Talbott, niece: Joan Cregar, and great-nephews: Matthew Cregar (Katie), and Timothy Cregar (Dawn).

She was predeceased by her stepdaughters: Shirley Talbott and Sharon Osborn, and nephew: Gary Bosley.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 20, from 10 am – 12 pm, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 15300 Dover Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136, where a funeral service will be held at 12 pm.

Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Memorial Fund, 15300 Dover Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136.
