W. Lee Sherman, Jr., 56, of Butler died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Born October 10, 1952 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Willard Lee Sherman, Sr. and Mary Agnes Schafer Sherman.

Mr. Sherman was a 1971 graduate of Calvert Hall College High School and attended Catonsville Community College. He was a truck driver for Gray and Sons. He had formerly worked for Willard Lee Sherman Co., Inc. and he then formed the W. Lee Sherman Construction Co. and later assisted with constructing the breaker wall in Ocean City. He enjoyed traveling to Ocean City and planned to retire there.

Surviving are his daughters Beth A. Sherman of Hampstead, Laura L. Sherman of Finksburg, and Sarah J. Sherman of Westminster; his granddaughter Allie J. Sherman-Unglesbee of Westminster; his sister Sheila McNamara of CO; his former wife Deborah Boog-Sherman of Hampstead; and also survived by his nieces and nephew.

He was predeceased by his long time companion Teresa Lynn Tipton.

A memorial service will held 6:00 p.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with the Rev. Louis Piel.

Interment will be private.

There will be no public visitation.
