Walter Robert "Bob" Leister, 66, of Manchester, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at home.
Born Nov. 27, 1943, he was the son of Ruth Ellene Sterner Leister, of Manchester, and the late Walter Hunt Leister. He was the husband of Gloria D. Heindel Leister.
He was a retired material supplies supervisor for Black and Decker, where he was employed for 40 years, and he enjoyed traveling. He was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are children Peggy L. Bruck and husband Kevin E., of York, Pa., Kimberly A. Cartier, and husband Robert N., of Glen Rock, Pa., and Sandra L. Leister, of Glenville, Pa.; grandchildren Stephen M. and Danielle E. Bruck, and Gabrielle L. and Matthew R. Cartier; and a sister, Janet Flickinger, of Westminster.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 1372 Bachmans Valley Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Stacy Marsh officiating. Interment will be in John Luther Miller Cemetery in Westminster.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Boy Scouts of America, York Adams Area Council, 2139 White St. York, PA. 17404.
