On February 18, 2016, Walter L. Hanrahan, Jr, 79, of Reisterstown, MD passed away. He was the beloved husband of Rosalie Hanrahan; wonderful father to Christian Hanrahan and wife Karen, Kevin Hanrahan and Colleen Hanrahan; loving grandfather to Andrew Hanrahan and Daniel Jackson; caring uncle to many nieces and nephews. Walter was a 1954 graduate of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and spent 31 years working at the MD State Highway Administration as a surveyor and project planner, followed by 15 years at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glyndon, MD. He was drafted and served 2 years in the US Army, 1958-1960. He was a lifelong gifted woodworker, and many friends and family still enjoy his handcrafted pieces. He is remembered as a kind, patient, gentle, creative and humorous man by all who knew him. The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2016 at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart, Glyndon.
