Wilbur Dorsey Brooks, "Shorty" 97 years old of Owings Mills, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.
Born April 15, 1913 in Upperco, he was the son of the late Dorsey Brooks and Effie May Bossom Brooks.
He was the husband of Clara Chester Brooks for 51 years.
He retired from the former Maryland Cup Corporation. He was an avid gardener and Orioles fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses: George Brooks of Hampstead, Elzena and Dean Burns of Reisterstown, Ellen and Cliff Tacie of Joppatown, his step-children: Robert John and Bernadine Chester of Baltimore, Joan and Jerry Reese of Hampstead, John Henry and Linda Shipley of Baltimore, his siblings: Alice Dunton and Norman Brooks and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his step-son, Lawrence Thomas Chester in 1976.
Friends may call on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills where services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Pastor Norman Obenshain officiating.
Interment in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
