William Starrett Esworthy, Sr., 82 years old of Owings Mills, died Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Seasons Hospice in Randallstown.
Born March 8, 1931 in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late William B. Esworthy and Helen E. Horton Esworthy.
He was the husband of Mary "Sissy" Stierhoff Esworthy, his wife of 61 years.
He served honorably with the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. After leaving the Navy, he was a self employed plumber.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: William "Jay" S. Esworthy, Jr., his wife Darcy, daughter: Dawn Esworthy and Wendy Good, 5 grandchildren: Cassie Coughlin, Starrett Esworthy III, Airlia Lotz, Britni Esworthy, Courtney Esworthy Good, 3 great grandchildren: Sloane Coughlin, Johnnie Esworthy, Raven Coughlin, 2 brothers: James and Bernard Esworthy and 3 sisters: Geraldine, Linda and Daisy Esworthy.
Friends may call on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills where services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM. Pastor Tim Webster officiating.
Interment in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery at a later date, with military honors.
