William "Bill" Melvin Fisher age 82 of Manchester, MD died Thursday March 19, 2015 at his son's home.
Born July 19, 1932 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Marcellus Woodruff and Georgianna Brittingham Fisher. He was the husband of Margo Anne Buckley Fisher his wife of 58 years.
He was a retired electronic technician for the Dept. of the Navy. He was also a Staff Sargent of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church where he was in the Knights of Columbus, and was a handyman who enjoyed wood working, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Rev. Msgr. Michael William Fisher, Kathleen Anne Mounsey and husband David, Patrick James Fisher and wife Clare, Teresa Margaret Gentile and husband Peter and William Scott Fisher and fiancée Laura. Siblings, Thomas L. Fisher and wife Ann and Mary Lorraine Gayle and husband John. He was also survived by 11 grandchildren.
A requiem mass will be held at St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester, MD on Tuesday March 24, 2015 at 10:30 am.
Interment will be in Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, MD.
The family will receive friends on Monday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. with prayers at 7:30 pm.
