William "Buck" Russell Hale age 86 of Manchester, MD. died Friday September 6, 2013 at the York Hospital In York, PA.
Born Dec. 6, 1926 in Greenmount, MD. He was the son of the late Russell and Ethel Frederick Hale. He was the husband of the late Virginia "Ginny" Mays Hale.
He was a retired welder for the former Snyder's Body Shop in Greenmount, MD. He was an avid woodworker, NASCAR fan and most of all enjoyed being with family. He also served in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his daughter: Debra Mays of Manchester, MD. Grandsons: William Stem and wife Cynthia of Felton, MD. and Michael Stem and wife Crystal of Hanover, PA. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son in law: Donald Albert Mays and siblings: Raymond Hale, Helen Baker and Evelyn Holbrook.
Funeral services will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. on Tuesday at 11:00am. with the Rev. Scott Shumaker officiating.
Interment will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. at the funeral chapel.
