William Oliver Haught, 85, of Owings Mills, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Dove House in Westminster.
Born Oct. 28, 1923, in New Martinsville, W. Va., he was the son of the late William Oliver Haught and Vergie Edge. He was the husband of Virginia Maxine Coulter Haught, his wife of 50 years, who died July 5, 1993.
He was an Army veteran, having retired as a sgt. first class after 23 years of service. He then worked for Maryland Cup for 20 years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 521 in Owings Mills and American Legion Post 0081 in Pine Grove, W.Va.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Harold Warner, of Owings Mills; grandchildren Julie, Dawn and Virginia Haught, of Phillipi, W.Va.; great-grandchildren Devon, Megan and Tristan; and numerous cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by a son, Michael Haught.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery in Reisterstown.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
