William Barnett Klages, 77, of Manchester passed away peacefully, Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Dove House in Westminster. He was born August 9, 1938 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Harry E. Klages and Marie Barnett Klages. He was the life partner of Katherine C. DeVaux for 40 years.

He was a Captain in the United States Marines Corp., where he served two tours in Vietnam. He was a retired salesman for numerous automobile dealerships. He was a member AMVETS and the V.F.W. In his spare time, he was an avid golfer, a sport he had enjoyed playing since he was 14 years old, and cherished spending time with his family and loved animals.

Surviving in addition to his life partner are his children Amy Buzgierski and husband Keith, Justina Sommer and husband Kurt, Jennifer Klages, William Klages and daughter-in-law Rita, Terry DeVaux, and Shelly DeVaux; his grandchildren Ashley, Chelsey, Alley, Carson, Carley, Aubrey, Vance, Ella, Ellena, Chuck, Jamie, Melissa, Emily, Tommy, and John; and his sisters Joyce, Carole, and Laura.

The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, September 3 at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where catholic prayers will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 4 with the Rev. Fr. Michael Roach officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be a later date in the Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
