William "Bill" Ross Krider, Jr., 68, of Westminster, MD, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Bridging Life Dove House, formerly Carroll Hospice in Westminster, MD. Born on January 14, 1953 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Phyllis Ann Krider Prietz and the late William Ross Krider, Sr.
Bill graduated from Franklin Sr. High School in 1971. He retired from Verizon after 33 years and was working as a contractor at the National Security Agency until his death. Bill loved his place at the beach and fishing on his boat. He was an avid "flow-rider" on cruise ships and won numerous contests as "best of the best." He had a saying, "if it don't flow- Krider don't go." He was also an amateur photographer and a runner. He entered several 5K and 10K races as well as the Boston Marathon. He kept in touch with many of his high school classmates and friends he met at work and on his travels. He had a great sense of humor and loved pulling pranks on people.
He was a great brother, uncle, friend, and person. He was such a good, hard working force of nature. He will be missed, but not forgotten. Let's remember the big smile and mischievous antics that made us all appreciate his life.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his stepfather: Herman Prietz, siblings: Mark Krider and wife Jeanne, Karen Kohr and husband Mark, and Sharon Meekins and husband Glenn, step-siblings: Mikki Lewis and husband Glenn, Ron Prietz and wife Cindy, and Bob Prietz and wife Shirl. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 6-8 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117.
