William Joseph McGarvey, 76, of Westminster died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, PA.
Born on February 4, 1933 in Margaretville, New York, he was the son of the late Joseph McGarvey and Agnes Walsh McGarvey
He was a graduate of Syracuse University and was veteran of the United States Marine Corp, where he had obtained the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He worked as a manager in the Insurance Industry and had worked for the State of Maryland in Insurance.
He was a member of the Marine Corp. League, the Westminster American Legion, and the Littlestown Veterans of Wars.
Surviving is his friend Joanlee F. Burrier of Westminster and her family.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with Deacon Joseph Cinquino officiating.
