William Edward Merryman, 84 years old of Reisterstown, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Gilchrist Hospice in Towson.
Born October 18, 1929 in Greenville, MD he was the son of the late Edgar Merryman and Gladys Louise Dayhoff Merryman.
He was the husband of Betsy Allman Merryman.
He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Safeway Foods in 1989.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children and their spouses: Kimberley and Jeff Ruark of Towson and Tammy and Danny Bentley of Hanover, PA., grandchildren: Kathryn Ruark, William Ruark, Sarah Bentley, her fiancé Brian Mayberry, and Abigail Bentley, great grandson: Hunter Bentley Mayberry.
He was predeceased by his brother Granville Merryman and two sisters: Sherlene Singer and Evelyn Schaeffer.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1 – 2:30 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills, where services will be held at 2:30 PM. Mike Ritter will officiate.
Interment will be on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, 11:30 AM at the Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
