William George Russell Bell, 92, of Uniontown, died Monday, April 5, 2010.
Born March 26, 1918, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Eleanor Russell Bell and Thomas Walter Bell. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Ridgely Nagle.
He was a railroad man for 35 years, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn-Central, Conrail and Amtrak Railroads during his career. He was a member of the Ben Franklin/Odenton Masonic Lodge No. 209.
He was a current member of Taneytown Baptist Church. He served on many committees in the Baptist churches of the communities in which he lived.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Ellen Bell and Alfred J. Lee, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Mary Beth and Johnny Arcidiacono, Johnny and Sandi Lee, all of Houston, and Becky and Mark Powell, of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren Christopher, Joey and Allie Arcidiacono, Trey Lee, Madison, Boone and John Luke Powell; step-great-grandchildren Brandon and Christine Pond; a brother, Thomas W. Bell Jr.; a brother-in-law, Lester Houck; sisters-in-law Mary Haines and husband Carroll Haines, and Beverly Franklin; 12 nieces and nephews; 26 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 27 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Elizabeth Bell; and a great-grandson, Johnny Arcidiacono.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Druid Ridge Cemetery in Pikesville.
