William John Sloman, Jr.

William John Sloman, Jr., 90, of Manchester, MD., passed peacefully, Wednesday April 13, 2016 at the Futurecare at Cherrywood in Reisterstown, MD. Born July 3, 1925 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William John and Jeannette Merryman Sloman, Sr. He was the husband of the late Betty Lou Todd Sloman who died Feb. 2, 2015.
Years ago, he drove a tractor trailer for Hemingway and C.J. Miller. He enjoyed trains, horses and watching old western movies.
He is survived by his children, Richard Sloman and wife Jane of Hanover, PA., John Sloman of Owings Mills, MD. and Barbara Litz and companion Carl House of Westminster, MD., grandchildren, Kristen Saunders, Scott Ward, Travis Sloman and John David Sloman, Jr. and great grandchildren, Katelyn Kuhn and Jackie Barlow, III.
He was predeceased by siblings, Catherine Rymer and Alfred Sloman.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A. 3296 Charmil Dr., Manchester, MD. from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. with the Rev. Dr. Norris E. Belcher, Jr. officiating.
Interment will be private.
