William Franklin Stem, 86, of Owings Mills, MD, passed away on January 5, 2019, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born on October 11, 1932, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Walter Franklin and Margaret Chilcoat Stem. He was the loving husband of the late Anna Elizabeth Fraley Heath, who passed away in 1999.
Years ago, William worked as a vending machine mechanic and installer. He was a lifetime member of both the Reisterstown S.A.L. and the Owings Mills VFW Auxiliary. William was also a member of the Bucs Club, Reisterstown American Legion, and numerous other clubs. He was a longtime musician.
Surviving him are children: Ronald L. Heath, Judy Stem, Leann Cole, William H. Stem, Karen Laufert, Kathy Haleamau, Richard F. Stem, and Teala Ramsel, 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and siblings: Walter Lee Stem, Jean Stem Gouker, and Margaret Stem Klein.
He was predeceased by a son: Kenneth Heath, granddaughters: Shawn Leigh Parks, Teresa Heath, and Brittany Ramsel, and siblings: Leonard Lee Stem and Douglas Stem.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, January 9, from 7-9 pm and Thursday, January 10, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, January 11, at 11 am. Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
