William Luther Taylor, 87 of Malabar, Florida passed away on January 12, 2020 at Life Care of Palm Bay of Florida. Born on October 26, 1932 in Grant, Alabama. He was the son of the late Orbell and Laura Lang Taylor.
Luther was in the United States Army 187 Airborne Division during the Korean War. In his earlier years he lived in Maryland and was employed by Drummond/Contee Company as a heavy machine operator. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #0037.
Surviving him is a daughter: Linda Mathena and husband Jeff Mathena, Sr., grandchildren: Jeff Mathena, Jr. and wife Lisa, Randy Mathena and wife Casey, and Dawn Tober and husband Chet, great grandchildren: Justin Tober and wife Brooke, Brett Tober, Delanee Tober, Jeffrey Mathena, III, Sage Mathena, Taylor Mathena, and Ryder Mathena, great great grandchildren: Emberlee Tober and Liam Tober.
He was predeceased by his two sisters, two brothers, a step son, Robert Heavel and his former spouse Shirley A. Taylor Siegert.
The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Saturday, February 22 from 11am – 12pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102 with a memorial service beginning at 12pm.
