William Edward Tugwell, Sr.

William Edward Tugwell, Sr., 82, of Baltimore, MD, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson, MD. Born on July 18, 1942, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late George Wilson Tugwell, Sr. and Frieda Margaret Tugwell Veit. He was the beloved husband of 23 years to Janet Tugwell.

William owned his own contracting company for over 40 years. He used to love to go boating.  He was president for 20 years of the condo association where he lived.  He also liked to eat crabs and spend time with family.

Surviving him in addition to his wife are children: William Edward Tugwell, Jr. and wife Debbie, Jacqueline Elizabeth Coates, stepdaughter: Jean Cornell, grandchildren: Nicole Marie Tugwell, Melissa Joan Black, Christopher William Tugwell, Kimberly Michelle Tugwell, James Michael Coates, Sarah Marion Grace Coates, great-grandchildren: Skylar Elizabeth Tugwell, Brooks John Edward Tugwell, Shaniyah Faith Tugwell, Carly Joan Black, and Thomas Jack Black.  He is also survived by his sister: Frieda Marie Suter and husband Bill.

William was predeceased by his brothers: George W. Tugwell, Jr. and John Carl Tugwell.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, September 6, from 11 am – 12 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 12 pm.

Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
